We have been blessed with some awesome weather lately! Last week we had that awful heat wave that made it so hot you almost couldn't breathe, and here we are this week in the upper 80's, which is where it should be. We could not ask for better beach weather that what we are having...the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing off of the ocean and everyone is enjoying the beach! A week like last week makes us thankful for our "average" temperatures. The decks at the Croatan Surf Club are full with sun bathers and parents watching the kids play in the pool. The pool is full of all ranges from kids to the young at heart. Lots of volley ball, ladder ball and bocci ball is being played on the beach while others are surfing , boogie boarding or just frolicking in the ocean. It is the making of that great memorable Outer Banks vacation which is good since we are booked full of guests, everyone must share our sentiments on being the perfect vacation spot! There is so much to experience here without feeling overwhelmed as we all enjoy a laid back atmosphere. If you have not been, come to see what all of the fuss is about because life truly is good on the Outer Banks!

Our Guests LOVE us!

One of my favorite things is to hang out at the pool, but not for the obvious reasons, it is to hear all of the excitement from our guests first hand! At any given time you can hear how roomy and beautiful the condos are; what a great location; how fabulous the pool is; the indoor pool was great yesterday when we got rain; etc. The area around the pool is nice and large and has lots of tables, chairs and umbrellas so it is very convenient for a lunch or snack right there pool side. The gazebo provides great shade for the grandparents who want to watch the family play on the beach but cant take the heat. Also, the views from the ocean front condos are amazing, and lets parents with teenagers have a great view of them but at the same time give them a little space of their own. The condos have electronic locks, which allow our guests to bypass a check in office and go right to the Croatan Surf Club! If you get here early and your condo is not ready yet, you can go straight to the pool or beach until check in, at which time we will give you the code to your condo over the phone so that you can start your vacation immediately! Oh, I almost forgot the coolest part...there is a ship wreck in the surf on the beach! If you have not been here yet, it is a must. Located in Kill Devil Hills, you are close to the Wright Brothers Monument, grocery stores, mini golf, the movie theater and great restaurants, just a few minutes drive to the Aquarium, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Jockeys Ridge and so much more! Come see what all of the fuss is about, you wont be disappointed!

4th of July

What a great 4th of July we had! It was a perfect weekend.... I had family in town visiting, the weather was great, we caught crabs, got in lots of beach time and watched a great fireworks show in Manteo! The beach was just as it should be..hot with a great breeze that cooled you off exactly when needed, the waves were calm so the kids could play, the water wasn't cold and most importantly there were no jellyfish! My kids wanted their 9 month old cousin to come crabbing with them so he got to come along and loved every bit of it. The first crab caught was a small one without claws so he got to hold it....that is until he tried to "eat fresh seafood" so that was quickly the end of playing with his first crab. We went for ice cream, had great food at our cook out and then walked downtown to get ready for the fireworks show. There was a local band playing, and of course lots of vendors out. We enjoyed funnel cake, fresh squeezed lemonade, snow cones and ice cold beer on tap. There was a moon bounce for kids, face painting, and of course the park is there for the kids to play as well. The show itself was great, it was a nice long show with a great finale! If you have not been here for an Outer Banks 4th of July, you should try it at least once... that is all it will take for you to get hooked. Aah...just another one of the hundreds of reasons that I love living here!
